Negative Capability, the capacity to stay inside uncertainty without rushing to forced answers, is not just a literary idea. It is an engineering stance. The golf fitting systems began by measuring what was actually happening in a swing rather than forcing the swing to match a pre-set club. The ASK work applies the same stance to AI: do not collapse the design space too early. Hardware constraints can preserve the open space where human values remain primary.
Centralized systems scale until they do not. When alignment fails at the center there is no fallback. A hardware kernel that every node must respect creates a shared constitutional floor without requiring a single point of control. That is the practical argument behind ASK.
Data centers and compute are not a temporary bubble. They are becoming the highways and power grids of the next economy. Treating them as infrastructure that needs resilience, not just valuation, changes the policy and investment conversation.
